About Francesca Mountfort

Francesca received her BSc(Physics & Applied mathematics), BSc Hons(Laser Physics) and MSc(Physics) degrees at the Laser Research Institute at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Her current PhD project involves the design and fabrication of high power fibre sources with a view of suppressing SBS (stimulated Brillouin scattering). Research interests include nonlinear optics, high power laser physics and fibre optics.
