About Dr Senthil Ganapathy

Dr. Senthil Murugan Ganapathy joined the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton in April 2005 and is currently a Senior Research Fellow. He has worked as a post-doctoral fellow from 2001 to 2005 at the University of Bordeaux, France and Toyota Technological Institute, Japan. He has received his M.Sc (Materials Science & Technology) from Pondicherry University (University First Rank Holder) in 1996 and Ph.D (Photonic Materials) in 2001 from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His expertise and research interests range from photonic materials to photonic systems. He has published more than 70 journal and conference papers, 2 patents on new photonic glasses and currently editing a book on “Photonic Glasses and Glass-Ceramics”. Dr. Senthil Ganapathy also serves as a referee for several journals, such as: Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Optics Letters, Optics Express, Optical Materials, Journal of American Ceramic Society, Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, Journal of Molecular Structure, Journal of Crystal Growth, and Physics and Chemistry of Glasses.
