About Dr Pier Sazio

Dr. Sazio is a Senior Research Fellow at the ORC, where his current research interests focus on the structural parameter space of air-silica optical fibre metamaterials, which has given rise to a wealth of scientific and technological applications.
To move beyond this paradigm, it is necessary to add compositional complexity to these structures by exploring the deposition of functional materials within an optical fibre host, potentially leading to next generation device structures with radically new photonic, electronic and plasmonic degrees of freedom.
