About Prof Peter Smith

Prof Peter G.R. Smith is from the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton. He leads a research group concentrating on the fabrication of optical devices using integrated optics technology:- particularly on direct UV writing and precision machining of optical materials. He also works on periodic poling technology and nonlinear optics. He has over 200 publications, 10 patents and was the founder of two spin-outs from Southampton - Stratophase Ltd in 2003 and Covesion Limited in 2009.
